  • Open ConfigPPP by clicking on the Apple Menu in the top left of your screen, keep holding down the mouse button and move the mouse down to Control Panels and release it, find the Config PPP icon and double click on it.
  • Select the port your modem is connected to from the drop down list in 'Port Name:'.
  • You can select a time that Config PPP to automatically hang up if the connection is left unused in 'Idle Timeout (minutes)'.
  • Leave "Echo Interval (seconds)' set at 60.
  • There should not be a X in 'Terminal Window'.
  • There should be a X in 'Hangup on Close'.
  • There should be a X in 'Quiet Mode'.
  • If you don't have a connection already configured for OlyPen click on the 'New' button, type OlyPen in the dialog box and click on 'OK'
  • If you already have a connection setup that you would like to check your settings for insure it is selected it from the drop down list  in 'PPP Server' and click on the 'Config' button.

  • 'Port Speed' should usually be set as follows:
    56K modem 57600
    33.6 modem 38400
    28.8 modem 38400
    14.4 modem 19200
    9600 modem 9600
  • 'Flow Control' should be set to CTS & RTS (DTR)
  • 'Tone Dial' should be selected..
  • You can change the "Telephone number" to the modem number for your area.

    Please choose the dial-up number closest to your location:

  • 681-3369 for Sequim / Port Angeles (56k/ISDN)
  • 379-3650 for Port Townsend (56k/ISDN)
  • 374-9747 for Forks (56k/ISDN)

  • In the 'Modem Init' is where you put our recommended initialisation string.
  • 'Modem connect timeout' should be set to 90 seconds.
  • Click on the 'Authentication' button.

  • In 'Auth, ID' type in your Olypen username eg. username (The username to dial in on is the same as your OlyPen email address.)
  • In 'Password' type in your Olypen password.
  • 'Retries' should be set to 10 and 'Timeout' set to 3 seconds.

  • The default values for 'LCP Options' should not require any changes.
