Q. Do I need to do anything?
A. This switch will automatically occur on August 4.th If your filters are currently on, the only thing you will need to take note of is the change from
http://login.postini.com to
http://login.olypen.com for the location of your quarantined mails. However, some customers do not have their filters turned on and will need to enable them to take advantage of the new system. To do this, please visit the walkthrough section located at the bottom of this page.
Q. When will the switch to the new system take place?
A. Wednesday August 4th, 2010.
Q. What are the benefits of this upgrade?
A. Our new system is quicker at detecting various forms of junk e-mail and phishing attacks, is easier to use, and makes your e-mail safer.
Q. Do I still need an anti-virus program (such as Norton, McAfee, etc)?
A. Yes. While OlyPen will keep e-mail safe from viruses, anti-virus programs are still highly recommended for web browsing.
Q. Do I still need to check Postini?
A. No,
http://login.olypen.com has replaced Postini and will be where you find any quarantined e-mail.
Q. What happens to e-mail already in Postini?
A. These messages are still in Postini. Postini removes messages that are 14 days old. Therefore, at the end of 2 weeks, your Postini quarantine will be empty.
Q. Will I receive notifications about quarantined e-mail?
A. You can configure whether or not you receive notifications by clicking Junk Mail Settings in your OlyPen spam filter page.
Q. What happens to my Approved and Blocked senders?
A. Approved/blocked senders and approved mailing lists have been imported into the new system.
Q. Will my approved/blocked senders lists be limited to the 10,000 character limit that Postini imposed?
A. No! You can have unlimited e-mail addresses and/or domains in your approved and blocked senders lists.
Q. Will quarantined messages be automatically removed?
A. Yes! Messages in your quarantine will be removed after they are 14 days old.
Q. Do I still need OlyPen's secondary spam filter?
A. For the last year or more, OlyPen had a secondary spam filter that was available only from the webmail settings page. This has been merged with the new system. If you had any Approved or Blocked senders specific to this spam filter, they have also been imported to the new system. This allows all of our spam filtering to be more steamlined, making it more efficient for our customers.
Q. Will my password be the same?
A. Yes. Your password for this new system is the same as your e-mail password.
Q. Will this affect my connection speed?
A. The switch to the new spam filtering will not cause any change to your connection speed.
Q. Is my Web Browser and Operating System supported?
A. All major browsers and operating systems are supported.
Q. How do I report spam?
A. Please forward e-mail to
report@spam.olypen.com
Q. Do I still need to adjust my spam filter levels?
A. No, this is no longer necessary.
