Setting up Dial Up Networking - Creating a New Connection


Click Start, then Control Panel.
From the Control Panel double click Network Connections.
RIGHT click on OlyPen then click Properties.
Connect Using: Should have your modem listed.  Click Configure to edit the modem properties.

 

Please choose the dial-up number closest to your location:

  • 681-3369 for Sequim / Port Angeles (56k/ISDN)
  • 379-3650 for Port Townsend (56k/ISDN)
  • 374-9747 for Forks (56k/ISDN)

  • Dialing Options:

    Top 2 and the last option should be selected.

    Security Options:

    Typical with Allow Unsecured Password need to be selected.

     
    Type of Dial Up Server:

    PPP:Windows95/98/NT4/2000

    Click Settings for more PPP options.

    In the Components box:

    Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) should be checked.

    Click Properties for TCP/IP settings

     
    If you wish to use Internet Connection Sharing, you can enable it here.

    Only attempt this if you know how to fix your connection if it does not work.
