Setting up a new Mail Account - Editing Mail Account preferences


ico_prop.gif (1909 bytes) Click once only with your Right-side mouse button on the Microsoft Outlook icon on the Windows Desktop.

Or, double-click on the Microsoft Outlook icon on the Windows Desktop, then go to the Tools menu and select Services...
props.gif (5283 bytes) If you have an Internet E-mail service listed, select it and click the Properties button, otherwise click the Add... button.
add_svc.gif (3807 bytes) If you clicked on the Add... button, select the Internet E-mail service here and then click OK.

Mail Account: Enter a name you would like to refer to this account by, like OlyPen E-mail.

In the User Information section:

Name: Enter your proper name, in Title Case.

Organization: Blank or the name of your own business.

E-mail address: Your OlyPen e-mail address, all in small letters.

Reply address: Completely blank.

On the Servers page: In the Server Information section:

Outgoing mail (SMTP):
smtp.olypen.com

Incoming mail (POP3):
pop3.olypen.com

In the Incoming Mail Server section:

Account name: Your OlyPen username, all in small letters.

Password: Your OlyPen password, all in small letters.

DO NOT CHECK Log on using Secure Password Authentication.

In the Outgoing Mail Server section:

DO NOT CHECK My server requires authentication.

On the Connection page:

Select I establish my Internet connection manually

On the Advanced page:

Outgoing mail (SMTP): 25

Incoming mail (POP3): 110

Server timeouts: Long, 5 minutes
