Dialing-out/Configuring - How to Unsave your Username & Password

If you don't get prompted to enter in a username & password when you connect and you wish to edit these details - below are 3 methods of how to achieve this in Windows:

  • 1)  Double click My Computer, Dial up Networking.  Click the More button up the top then select Edit Connection and Modem properties.  Click the Security Tab up the top then down the bottom of that window it should have Unsave Password.  Press OK and you will be able to edit your details next time you logon. (If this button is unavailable try method 2 below)

  • 2)    Double click My Computer, Dial up Networking.  Click the More button up the top then select Edit Connection and Modem properties.  Click the Scripting Tab and select Pop up Terminal Window and press OK.  Now click on Dial - it should come up asking for the username & password - if it does press Cancel and go back to More/Edit Entry/Scripting Tab and select None then press OK.  Now this should prompt you for the username & password.  (If this didn't work try method 3 below)

  • 3)    In Dial Up Networking, click More then Edit entry and Modem.. and click delete Entry.  After confirming the deletion click here to create a new dial up entry.
